About this deal

Even before awakening as the One, Neo showed at least some degree of superhuman durability, as he continued to keep on fighting even when suffering severe blows from Smith that were potent enough to force him him vomit up blood, as well as narrowly survive lightning-fast and repeated punches late into the battle, both of which would have killed an ordinary man. She is in her thirties, he is in his sixties, the flat is small, the walls are thin and the horror and humour that can arise from such a scenario was something I am not only familiar with but have long wanted to explore. The dual timeline and different narrators gives a variety of perspectives but it was Celia that had me gripped more than Madison. Reality-Warping: The One has the ability to bend the physics of the Matrix, allowing them certain abilities such as flight, telekinesis and healing abilities.

This book by Miranda Smith is an ominous and sinister mix of closet secrets and psychological suspense and is my third sortie into her writing. She makes a prediction: Neo will soon need to choose to save the life of Morpheus, or his own; in any case, one of them will die (this is the first of three paths that the Oracle defines for Neo).Superhuman Stamina: The One can exert themselves for extended periods without tiring at all far more than anyone else within the Matrix can. The One can even destroy Agents as Neo did to Agent Smith in The Matrix, where he destroyed Smith's program from within him. In prose so cluttered with admissions of inexactitude—“so to speak,” “if you will”—that it often seems as if his words are grinding to a bureaucratic halt, he forces us to notice the infinite elisions, all the other voices gone unheard, incurred by each linguistic choice he makes. Madison is shocked to hear that Cooper is suspected of killing his girlfriend when he was younger by some of the locals.

Madison Sharpe and her fiancé, Cooper Douglas, are newly engaged and move to Cooper’s hometown of Whisper Falls.Madison is due to marry Cooper and agrees to move to his home town of Whisper Falls after she loses her job. I thought I had it all figured out but I was happily wrong and found several surprising twists and turns which made for a terrific story. A small, beautiful, peaceful town has shaken to the core with the tragedy of young Celia’s death more than a decade ago.

The One is subtly blackmailed by the Architect to enter the Source door by being informed that Zion is going to be destroyed, as happens approximately every 100 years, [1] and therefore, if The One enters the Source door, they may pick twenty-three humans from within the Matrix to rebuild and repopulate Zion, thus saving humanity from extinction. It is mostly told from the perspective of Madison Sharpe who has moved to Whisper Falls with her fiancé, Cooper Douglas. Not long after moving, Madison discovers that Cooper’s high school girlfriend died and that the townspeople believe it wasn’t an accident.

I also loved the pieces of the puzzle that were placed before us as readers as we began to doubt Cooper just as Madison was beginning to. Dear readers, as his One Before The One, I put the wind up him good and proper and his wife is very welcome.

However, a shroud of doubt and concern begin to weigh heavily on her as his past relationship begins to be concerning. The safe, quiet town on the shores of a beautiful lake is the perfect place to spend the rest of their lives. With his new powers gained from taking over the Oracle, Smith appears to be stronger than Neo and he manages to seemingly defeat him, but while he gloats over his supposed victory, he repeats the Oracle's words, "Everything that has a beginning, has an end, Neo", a statement that makes Neo realise that he had been going about Smith's defeat all wrong and that his own defeat is actually the way to defeat Smith, his opposite, and he allows himself to be copied over by Smith. He lived in London, he was charming to my friends, his underwear was always fresh and he could cook. Neo displayed this ability by being able to hold a fight against several Smith clones for a long time without tiring, retreating only because he was outnumbered beyond what he could fight off. They might not be the one who shows you that you really couldn’t settle down with someone who doesn’t have a job, or can’t make a decent cup of tea, or doesn’t want to meet your friends. Things aren’t as they seem though and the first of many twists are huge, a bit predictable but it’s still fast paced and suspenseful!
